Cuba Gooding Jr.
Academy Award-winner Cuba Gooding Jr. stars in International West Pictures hilarious new comedy "Boat Trip" – about two guys who set sail, looking for love on a Mediterranean singles cruise. Gooding stars as Jerry – after Jerry’s fiancée dumps him, his best friend Nick (Horatio Sanz) tries to cheer him up by booking a vacation cruise on a ship that’s supposed to be filled with lots of young, beautiful and available women.
Gooding is one of the most charismatic and captivating performers on the screen today. His remarkable versatility, combined with the unique depth he brings to his roles, has made him one of the most sought-after actors of his generation.
Gooding’s critically-acclaimed, award-winning portrayal of flamboyant professional football player Rod Tidwell in the smash-hit feature film "Jerry Maguire" has propelled him to the forefront of the entertainment industry. The role has earned him an unprecedented number of honors, including the Oscar, the Screen Actors Guild Award, the Chicago Film Critics Award, the Broadcasters Film Critics Award, the Blockbuster Entertainment Award, the Black Oscars Award and the American Comedy Award, all for Best Supporting Actor. In addition, Gooding was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor and he was honored with the prestigious ShowWest Award, presented by the nation’s exhibitors, in the same category. He also received a nomination from the NAACP Image Awards for Outstanding Actor.
Gooding’s most recent film role is in the hit comedy "Zoolander" where he appears as himself. He also had key roles in this past summer’s "Pearl Harbor" from Touchstone Pictures and Paramount Pictures’ "Rat Race".
Gooding’s other credits include the highly acclaimed 20th Century Fox film "Men of Honor", the true story of Carl Braschear, the Navy’s first African-American deep sea salvage Master Diver, directed by George Tillman. He recently earned an NAACP Image Award nomination for his heart-felt performance in this film. Other starring roles include "What Dreams May Come" with Robin Williams, "Instinct" with Anthony Hopkins, the action-thriller "Chill Factor", the independent thriller "A Murder of Crows" co-starring Tom Berenger, and "Winter Dance" for Touchstone Pictures.
Gooding also starred in the comedy "Lightening Jack" co-starring Paul Hogan, the touching drama "Losing Isaiah" co-starring Jessica Lange and Halle Berry, the thriller "Outbreak" co-starring Dustin Hoffman and "As Good As It Gets" co-starring Jack Nicholson, Helen Hunt and Greg Kinnear for director James L. Brooks.
In 1992, Gooding was honored as the NATO/SHOWEST Newcomer of the Year for his performance in a "Few Good Men". He also earned rave reviews and a NAACP Image Award nomination for his portrayal of a 17-year-old high school student in "Boyz N The Hood", directed by John Singleton.
